Easy Baby Back Ribs

Easy Baby Back RibsHong Kong has some really spectacular BBQ restaurants. My favorite, Blue Smoke BBQ, has spectacular ribs, burgers and apple pie! You’ve got to love down home American cooking.

My husband and I love eating baby back ribs and decided to finally try to cook them ourselves. I was worried it might be a difficult task, but making ribs turned out to be incredibly easy!

We bought two frozen slabs of pork baby back ribs at the supermarket along with a pre-made barbeque sauce. Some day, we’ll make our own sauce…

After thawing the ribs, we preheated the oven to 325 degrees Farenheit. Preparing the meat is simple – I rubbed both sides of the slab with salt and pepper.

After prepping the ribs, we placed the meat in the oven for 30 minutes. After the first half hour, we brushed BBQ sauce over the ribs. I adjusted the heat up to 350 degrees Farenheit and popped the slabs back in the oven for another 30 minutes. We brushed the ribs with BBQ sauce again, and popped them back in the oven for (yes, you guessed it…) an additional 30 minutes. After 90 minutes (total), the ribs were done. They had filled our apartment with a delicious aroma, so we could hardly wait to taste them!

We loved the dish so much that we made it again the following night. I served with white rice (this is how my family grew up eating ribs), baked beans and a green salad. Next time, I’m planning to make corn bread. Yum!
